Surrender Passport

Hi,
I received my oci card in the year 2008. I learned about a recent rule that OCI card holder has to surrender Indian password and get the surrender certificate. Does it impact folks like me who got the oci in 2008? Please let me know. Appreciate your help

Nothing for now.

However, if you need their services in future, they may ask you to get the surrender certificate. But if you have already surrendered your passport and got it cancelled, there is no charge to get the surrender certificate.
