I just read somewhere that the person went to the consulate to apply for PIO card. His mother got the US citizenship in 1970s and the applicant herself was born in the U.S.

Her mother didn't have the Indian passport all these years with her and the lady showed mother's birth certificate from India. The consulate refused to accept it as the proof of Indian origin.

They asked her to tell her mother to apply for the Indian passport now, and then apply for surrendering it. Then they would accept her PIO card application.

Indians , especially in consulates are the most stupid fools on the planet, In and outside the country they are the same.

If the person has lost the Indian passport 10 or 20 years ago and now he is US citizen and has US passport, imagine how the local police station will behave with this matter.

My credit card was recently stolen and I know how they behaved with me when I went there to file a police complaint. They wanted me to file a complaint where the crime occured, and they refused to take the complaint. Fraudulent credit cards charges occured from all over the country such as California, Denver, Boston, Florida, Texas and so on.

Someone who has US passport for 20 years actually going to police station to file a complaint that his expired Indian passport was lost 20 years ago, and he wants them to file a police complaint about it now, 20 years later!! I can't even imagine what they are going to do in this case.
