Hi - my son was born in India in 1983 - his parents are British and he holds a UK passport - he wants to buy a house and set up a business in India - how can he use his place of birth to help him? I understand that the citizenship act 1955 mentions quote"A person born in India on or after 26th January 1950 but before 1st July, 1987 is citizen of India by birth irrespective of the nationality of his parents. "
does anyone know if this is still true - any other advise would be gratefully received

As I have not had any experiance with such matters, one option is to send an email or place a call to near by Indian immigration office to get some information. I wish you all the best.
