change of US passport after applying for OCI

I applied for OCI in Jan 2010 and waited for 3 months. No change in application status, hence I re-submitted the OCI form. After that I renewed the US passport as I entered the passport renewal time interval (i.e., passport would expire in Nov and we can't renew any earlier than 6 months). Does any one had to deal with this situation? Do I fill out the application form A with modified passport #? Would they issue the OCI sticker on the expired US passport? Thanks in advance.
