Greetings everyone.
My infant (3 mo) daughter entered India on a Tourist visa (5 year validity, 180 day maximum stay). I received her OCI card (in US) shortly after she went to India (Pune) (with her mom). Now we're coming up on the 180 day mark and I was looking at options to extend her stay beyond 180 days (Ideally till June 2021). When I called Mumbai FRRO office, they said that since she's received the OCI, she can stay as long as desired and nothing further needs to be done. But I received an email from the Chennai FRRO office (whom I'd emailed earlier) saying that if you enter on Visa then you must exit on Visa.
My situation is a bit like this Poster. https://www.immihelp.com/experiences...E-Visa-172848/
Questions
1. There is no written record of my conversation with the Mumbai FRRO office, and I have nothing to show if we're stopped at exit time.
2. Both myself and my wife are naturalized US citizens, with valid OCIs. Can my daughter be considered a person of Indian origin since her grandparents are Indian citizens?
3. What options do we have to extend her stay until June 2021 once her 180 days permitted by her tourist visa are up?
Thanks in advance
CA Father.
