  • Document Notarization for Passport Renewal (NJ)

I am planning to visit Bank of America for Notarizing the documents

They say they do not notarize certificates - only affidavits.

In the past I remember I could get notarization done by the bank by putting a standard text like the below ... "I swear and declare that this is a true copy" et.

Do you know if this still holds?

    For minor's passport reissue --

Is there clear guidance / experience on WHO needs to sign on the documents?

Should both parents sign? How about notarization - should each of the parent self-attest their own respective I797 and residence proofs? How about the minor's I797?

    Thanks in advance!

Got my friends Green Card & Driver License notarized about 2 weeks ago from UPS. The agent said she will not notarize the copy but she will notarize a statement. He had to write something along the lines I (Name) certify that this is true and correct copy of my California Driver License on a piece of paper that UPS representative provided with notary wording on it. She then notarized the statement and my friend signed the notary paper and copy of his Green Card/DL. 2 separate statements were signed. UPS charged $15/notary. For the minor's passport, doesn't the checklist specify who signs?

Bank Notary (BofA in NJ) is no longer notarizing copies of documents like I797, Utility Bill, DL etc -- even after we add a signed statement that says the above is a true copy.

Public Notary charged us $3 per document (earlier I remember it used to cost $15 per document)

Compared to few years ago, now we have fewer documents to be notarized

So this was fine -- I ended up getting all notarization done for about $24 for a minor application
