Renunciation Certificate

Dear Sir,

I am US citizen, as well as OCI card holder since 2006. Also, I have cancelled my Indian passport through NY consulate in 2006. That time, I was not given surrender certificate. Just I got my Indian passport back with CANCELLED stamp and written remark " as aquired US citizenship ".

Now, pl let me know if I need Surrender certificate. If so, will there be any charge involved ?
