      No Problem at al

I have a 20 yr passport issued from Mumbai. I have been travelling for last 12 years and my passport expires in 2018.

I have never been asked any questions on my passport validity of 20 years by any immigration at any airports. I travel once a year to India, Europe, Asia and Australia.

You have a valid passport and you should not have any problem.

In 2005 The San Francisco consulate issued on their website to surrender the 20 yr valid passport and get a free 10 year passport. I did not surrender because I have paid for a 20 year passport.

      When does your passport expire?

Can you provide more info ?

Hi Sarang: you mentioned that you never had problems in travel. I am looking to apply for Schegen visa and it says passport is needed to be issued in last 10 years.

Have you been successful for any particular European Country where your passport was allowed for visa ?

        Please let me know. Thanks

Regarding the Schegen visa as we applied last year. Fly into Geneva from the USA. Therefore apply to the Swiss Consulate in the USA which will save you alot of hassle, and time. The reason we applied to the Swiss consulate is that you do not need to go the consulate in person for the stupid interview.

Make sure you call your health insurance provider from work, and get a detailed fax for the amount of international health coverage you have. As the Schegen countries will not issue you a visa with out that detailed information!

Yes, you will need spend at least one night in Geneva otherwise you will not be given the Schegen visa!

          Hope this helps!
