I recently shipped my passport with CKGS to the New York CKGS center. They provided me a shipping label, in which they were the both the shipper and the receiver. After the package was shipped, UPS updated me that it cannot be delivered.
Then I found out that that CKGS just went out of business and closed office without providing any forwarding or return address. Now my package is stuck with UPS. I called them and talked to at least 4 different UPS representatives. All of them said that, to get the passport returned to me, I have to get an authorization from the shipper (which is not possible) to have it returned.
Is there anything I can do, besides report my passport lost, and file for a new one? My visa was also on that passport. Do i need to apply for another stamping?
