  • Printed photo on government application form OR paste separate photo?

On the VFS checklist it says physical photo must affixed on physical government application form, but the photo is already there on the government application form from the time I uploaded it onto the government portal, I just have to take a color print-out and the photo will print along with the application form, correct? OR do I have to affix a separate photograph on top of the printed photo on the government application form?

Leave the oci application alone as it has your picture uploaded. Send two additional pp size photos with the application. Make sure the photo is same as the one you printed/uploaded to website. Don't affix anything to the application.

Did you do white background or light blue background? I am not able to find anyone who does non white background around me. Also, how did you convert the passport photo and signature into digital format?

sinnerman26 ?? Where did you see non-white background photo requirement? As per this official site, it should be white background - https://ociservices.gov.in/Photo-Spec-FINAL.pdf

I saw this on the instruction page of OCI government website. See the screenshot I've attached.

sinnerman26 thanks, I think if you go to walmart, they might have non-white backgrounds. Or others on this forum who have applied earlier can advise.

I always had walmart photos with white background. The consulate never rejected any of them till now.

Thank you for your responses everyone,

I also emailed VFS and Chicago Consulate about this. They responded with saying that white background is fine. Actually, the consulate just forwarded the email to VFS and they responded that white background is fine.

Have you guys just used Microsoft Paint to create the digital copy as per the OCI website format?

Besides uploading photo on the MHA website, you have to attach printed photos too.
I used a service online and for $12, I was able to have all of my photo-related worries taken care of for OCI. They even helped format the signature for online upload and gave 6 printed photos. They printed photos in the light blue background so it sort of meets white as well as non-white background requirements.

We used the same photos we used for our US passports. They're not pure white background. I take the photos at home and upload them to a FREE service which gives me a 4x6 with 4 photos on a sheet.

You registered and bumped a couple years old thread to post a pay for photos service. Do you run that site?
