  • VFS Renunciation - no tracking information

    - I applied for renunciation with VFS in NY and sent my application using the paid courier service (Fedex) 10 days ago.

Fedex tracking shows than the packet was delivered to VFS 9 days ago

    - However when I go track my application at this website: https://www.vfsvisaonline.com/Global-PassportTracking/

I keep getting "Invalid Input". I am using the right tracking number and tried multiple date formats but keep getting the same message.

    - 9 days is far too long for the application to not even show up in their system. Has anyone else experienced such a long delay before they were able to track their application?

    Thanks

Mine was showing up within 5 days.
You have to use your Government Renunciation form number. The one that has picture affixed. Also include the "-". You can email them if it doesn't display in a day or so. Try and find out there direct email for VFS NY Application Center. Don't use their website form. Those people respond like 3-4 days later with no information. If there isn't an email address available then reach out to your consulate and have them escalate.

help_imm Were you able to get the status? I've been having same issue since my application was received by VFS NY on 12/01/20. Despite number of emails and calls (Spending money in Customer service..really?) I have no information about my application yet. Its been close to 20 days already. Please share your experience so to know what to expect from this pathetic service provider.

Same. Can't see any tracking information to show the application even exists. Sent an email several days ago but only received an automated response.

This is beyond pathetic. Were you able to get any updates?

help_imm The tracking page will show status only when VFS has acknowledged receipt of your package and updated it into their system. Otherwise, it will just show "Invalid input" status.

When VFS updates it into their system, you should get an email of acknowledgement and then the online system shows the current status.

It's been over 12 days since the application was delivered by their paid courier service (Fedex). This is beyond unprofessional. I have sent emails and just get the cut and paste response. I am shocked that their system does not even reflect receipt of the application.

Any suggestions of what else I could do? Is there someone I can reach out to in senior management at VFS or the Indian consulate?

help_imm Check your inbox, sent you a private message. Also reach out to officials in your local consulate. You can find their contact details on respective websites.

NY. However the problem is that VFS has not even logged the application in their system and it's becoming apparent that they have lost my passport and application. It's only sent to the consulate after being logged. The problem is on the VFS end and not the consulate

The application was delivered to to VFS NY 3 weeks ago. VFS is clearly liable for this - it is a massive delay in the best case scenario

                  Thanks

help_imm Did you try reaching out to any officials in your local Consulate. Call or email them. Also, did you pay with credit card or money order? If money order, you can check if it was cashed out or not. Try to reach out to Embassy officials in Washington D.C and escalate if needed.

Hi help_imm - did you receive any update from VFS for your case? Will really appreciate if you can share any steps that helped in resolving your case. I am in a similar situation - My parents had sent their OCI applications, and also received an acknowledgement email, from VFS, more than a week ago. However, when we try to check the status on the VFS portal, it keeps saying "Invalid Inputs". We have called the contact center number, and it went to India where they only provide status once the application has reached the consulate. We also tried mailing them and have received no response at all.
