Newborn - Visa or OCI

Hi everyone.

Looking for your advice on this matter. My L1 visa expires in April 1st week and I just got the US passport for my infant. Since I only have 3 months left, I wanted an opinion on whether I should

1. Apply for the Indian Visa , travel to India and then apply OCI -or
2. Apply for OCI from here straightaway and then travel

Thoughts ?

If you have 3 months, go ahead and apply for OCI. India is still not allowing tourist visa holders and I believe tourist visa applications are not being accepted currently.
