OCI Que

Sir,

I have been approved to get my OCI card and meanwhile my US passport had changed. I travelled to New York to collect it from Ohio and found out they cannot issue it to me due to new passport. It seems like there is form to fill-out and it takes 4 weeks to approve, etc. Is there any benefit doing the OCI instead of 5 yr Entry Visa due to all the hazzle around bureaucracy around every change? If I do not get the OCI will there be any issues just getting entry visas in the future.

Read /oci-card/ to understand the benefits of OCI.

If you just want to visit India once in a while for a short time, you can get Entry visa as well.

If you don't get OCI now, I don't any problems in getting Entry visa now or later, just because of that.
