PLACE OF ISSUE OF PASSPORT: For US passport holders, it should be USA or USDOS only. For others – it should be exactly the same as stated in the Govt. form.

On your application form generated by VFS there should be a breakdown of the bill. Review if they have charged you $45 in total. This will be listed as $30 for round trip courier and $15 for Courier fee (New OCI to return US passport). All in all they should only charge you $45 in total for courier service.

I understand your frustration and $15 may not really matter in the grand scheme of things. I also got a response when I raised this question with VFS application center and what they said is that when the OCI arrives they will generate the fedex label since I was already charged for it. This very well may be the case with yours.

Thanks! I entered USA as the place of issue.

Hello again, should the photocopies of documents for OCI be in color or B&W? Should the copies be self-attested? What about the documents that are uploaded, should they be self-attested before we upload?

I didn't self attest anything and mine was forwarded to consulate. The copies that you upload, do those in color. The ones you send with application they can be b&w.

Thank you. Just completed uploading the documents. Didn't self-attest those. Is it ok if the copies are in color? I can redo the copies if they require to be b&w. Didn't want to make more copies if it's not required
