  • OCI/ Entry Visa

    Hi
I would appreciate if someone can help me in my visa dillema. I applied for the OCI almost 2 months ago and havent heard from them about. My case is still not assigned to anyone. However I applied for an entry visa as I have to go to India. But I cant get a hold of anyone from the Houston Consulate department. I really need to talk to someone in regards to the status of the entry visa. the longer its taking the consulate to approve my visa the more I have to pay for my ticket..

Did anyone go through the same situation? Any advice?
    Thank you

    entry visa

I applied for entry visa 7/21 and still haven't gotten it. It is pending at the consulate in houston. And can't get anyone on the phone. I have applied for the entry visa and also for the surrender cert as it is required for the people who became US citizen after 5/31. When did you apply for the entry visa??

strangely I applied on 7/22/10 and i sent in the renunciation forms etc. and i havent heard from them.. I think Houston Consulate is the worst one..Other consulates in the US are much faster and easy to communicate with.. I tried calling almost 9 numbers that they have on their site..No one answers..I think its just there so people will think they can talk to a person..the closest I got to talking to someone was the india travisa outsourcing people..but they cant answer much untill the slow **** consulate works on the visa..its soo frustrating.. I mean I paid for 2 different kinds of visa..how much more do they need me to pay to work on my documents.. ..grr

I am going through the same situation , applied for OCI that is not probably getting processed anytime soon , so applied for entry visa and no word on that yet. The travisa people say it is 7-10 business in general for the visa approval but cannot be guarenteed.

                    PIO card for my boy

                    Hi,

Do you need to send the US passport in Original to apply for the PIO card. I have a boy who is month and half old and I may need to travel to India in about 2 months time, so reading some forums I came to know that the processing can take from 1 - 3 months or more to get the PIO card. My worry is if we send in the original US passport and if I need to travel to india then that would be problem. So can any one guide me if we need to send in the original passport for PIO card, I will be applying to Washington DC.
