When can i expect to get my OCI card?

I applied for the OCI card in early january. My application reached VFS and was acknowledged on Jan 12th. Later on the VFS site, they updated saying that it has been reviewed then sent to consulate then it said it was dispatched from the embassy. Now it is showing that the application has reached the embassy. What does this mean? The indian oci website is showing that it is under process. How much longer should i wait before contacting the consulate or VFS?

I am worried because most of the members here got their OCI card within a little over 1 month after they apply.

Thank you for your reply. I am just getting worried since its been 6 weeks since it my application reached the VFS Houston office.

Don't worry. Wait for another 2 weeks and you may get it. Keep tracking on government site. You are still within (less than) 4-6 weeks of the timeframe (4-6 weeks is from the time that Consulate receives your application and not when you sent your packet). Email VFS if it that time has already passed. Houston office is fairly quick but because of last week's winter storm and power outages in Texas, things may have been delayed.
