OCI RENEW for adults after 50 years

Is it necessary to send Original OCI card when applying for OCI RENEW after 50 years? or only copy of OCI is fine

It is actually called as "OCI Re-issue" instead of "OCI Renewal". Yes, you have to send your original OCI booklet with the application. However, you do NOT have to send your original US passport, which is a huge saving grace for re-issue of OCI applications.
