  • new OCI card after address change?

    hello everyone,
We moved from one state to another within USA. we are US citizens between 20 and 49 years. The OCI has the old address The US passport is not changed and the OCI card still has the same passport number. My question is should we get a new OCI card to reflect the change in the address? according to the guidelines, change in adress/occupation is one of the reasons to get a new OCI card ( among others). if you go to this link, at the bottom of this webpage, under FAQs, see Q3; https://www.cgisf.gov.in/page/oci-ov...f-india-cards/

we are planning to travel to India in June, so wondering if we need to get a new OCI? has anyone travelled in this situation and not had an issue at indian port of entry? Indian immigration officers dont check our US address but they look at the US passport which does not have any address typed anywhere. can we get by or not? Please help.
we have enough time to apply and get one if we really need it. Tickets are not booked yet.

I have traveled many times before with old address on OCI cards for our family and had no issues. You should be fine.

If you absolutely want it to be reflective of the new address, u can always apply for re-issue of OCI cards. But, be prepared for a 6-8 week timeline as they are slammed with applications right now.
