  • Dual Citizenship question for OCI Renewal

I have an Australian citizenship and acquired an OCI using my Australian passport. Since then I have also acquired US citizenship. When applying for OCI renewal, it asks me the following question:

Whether holding dual nationality? * Yes No
If YES, mention country and passport details.

Will declaring my US citizenship cause problems?
    Thanks!

Why would it? Always be truthful and disclose all details.

ganpath67 - I just applied for my OCI on the basis of my Indian spouse. I am a dual national (US & Latvia). I thought a lot about this worrying if this will delay my process. After some research, I went along and disclosed my dual nationality.

I am not sure if my process will take longer (my timelines below) - hope not and I can travel to India when things open up a bit more. But at least I don't have to worry in the future about not declaring my second nationality and getting into trouble. I will update my timelines if my application progress further.
