  • OCI Card for Minor- Missing Document

    Hi All,

I had applied for OCI misc(because kid got new passport) for my minor kid and sent all the documents from the OCI checklist to SFO consulate. They have sent me an email saying the below is missing,
OCI Application Form Applicant above 5 years of age must sign his/her name and signature to be uploaded at OCI government website https://ociservices.gov.in/welcome. Upload copy of form at https://vfs.mioot.com/forms/In/USA/IHC-USA-Docs/
What does this mean? Do i need to resend the OCI application form signed and notarized?
I have the applicant signature uploaded on the OCI website already. Any one had a similar situation?

    Thanks much!

Any minor applicant >5 years has to also sign on last page of the govt application form and then it has to be signed by parents and notarized. Did you do this?

Hmm, then ask them to send screenshot of your form and provide details on what and where is exactly wrong if you say you did the right thing. VFS is known for its bad processing and high handedness. If VFS isn't helpful, escalate it to your Consulate. Just in another post here, someone reported that VFS sent them a notification saying the applicant didn't send his original passport. But after sometime, VFS silently removed that hold as they must have initially misplaced it and then found it somehow on their end.

VFS is very pathetic and with increased case load, they might be making a lot of mistakes.

Thanks for the quick reply. We sent for both of our kids and one of them has come back with this status. I have sent them an email for more details. Appreciate your help!
