OCI application submitted -- what's next?

So I submitted my OCI application to VFS last week and after 2 days I received a notification stating, "Your application is received .You will receive an update once it is processed at VFS.
Avg processing time at Mission is 4-6 weeks except Tatkal cases."

Does that mean that there are no issues with my application and now it's just a wait for the card? Or can they still ask me about additional paperwork?

It is taking about 2-3 weeks before they review the application and submit to the consulate. You may expect to hear back from them, if they need anything else.

This only means acknowledgement of your courier. They will now review it and confirm if it is complete and then forward to mission. If anything is incomplete, they will inform you.

First it says "Received" - it only means that they received your application.
Then when they start processing it at VFS it says - "Your application is being verified and currently under process at the VFS Indian Consular Application Centre"
Once VFS verification is done, they send it to the Consulate and status will show - "Your application has reached at the Embassy/Consulate and is currently under review process"

After that you need to track it on the Govt web site. When the consulate enters your application in the system, it will say "UNDER-PROCESS".
Once they process it, it will show "Processed", "Printing" and "Dispatched from Delhi".

After the consulate receives the OCI from Delhi, they will send it to VFS and you will get update email from VFS when they courier it to you.

Mine's been under process (Houston) for a month now. Based on previous applicant reports, looks like it is taking just over two months to get the OCI, so expecting to get mine in early Aug. Keeping my fingers crossed..... and maybe do some praying!
