  • Emergency Visa to visit sick Parent

My mother is sick in India with Covid.

I had already applied for OCI but doesn't look like I can get OCI soon.

Is there a way to apply for emergency Visa ?

I have tried entering details for e-Visa but it doesn't have the option

I was trying eMEDICAL ATTENDANT VISA but it proceed only if select "TO ACCOMPANY PATIENT TRAVELLING TO INDIA ON EMEDICAL VISA"

    Is there another option ?

    Thanks.

Assuming that you don't have OCI and have one of the visa: e-Tourist Visa, Tourist Visa and Medical Visa.

Not sure which consulate you will be applying, but you can apply Entry Visa (Type X) -- This is considered Emergency Visa

sholay I was hoping you could help. I am in the same boat as you. I don't have my OCI yet, and I am in need of visiting India. I do not want to wait for the OCI process to come through (takes around 4 months, if I get lucky). I like to travel sometime in december and was wondering if you were able to get your Entry visa with the consulate.

Get a doctor note from India on official heading paper and apply for visa. I applied for one of my uncle's last two weeks ago.

I am in the reverse situation- US citizen who's overstayed 2+ years because of covid and now need to get back to US to see my sick mom. Worried that they will not let me back into India because of the overstay. Can anyone help me figure out if this is the case? Thank you so much.
