passport cancellation NY - 5 weeks and no news :(

Applied to cancel passport at NY office... its been 5+ weeks and no news so far. They dont even pick the phone up at NY. Is there any number people use to contact the consulate.

Hello All,

It has now been 10th Sept. No news abt my passport.
I had submiited my passport for renewal at CGI NY on 24th Aug.
My emails and phone calls do not get answered.
I am not sure what should i do next.

Please advise.

Cancel Passport

CGI NY website says to allow three weeks to process a SC application. Mine took 22 days in July. It would be more like 30 days now. If one desires to apply for OCI, get SC first and then apply for OCI with a copy of SC as a required document.

i submitted my passport for Surrender cert at NY 5+ weeks ago - still no response. Has any one received SC + cancelled passport recently ? whats the turn around time. They don't respond to emails or phones.
