OCI minor - notarizing passport?

Hi all -
Had a few questions from anyone who has first hand info or has gone through this (thanks in advance!)

• Is it necessary to notarize minor passport (the latest checklist on VFS site only says self attested copy, however some older news alert said notarized passport was required)
• Did anyone have problem or success with a certificate from notary attached but not on the same page as the parental consent? We went to get the parental consent and govt form notarized and the notary said that since there was not valid language/space they were providing a certificate as attachment instead.

I am about to submit OCI for my kids and we dont need to notarize the passport, just self attest (sign and say its a true copy). The checklist clearly states it, so i would rely on that.

Earlier they needed a notarized document, but that has since changed. I know as we applied for 3 adults in our family in March/April and had to provide notarized copy of passports. However currently they only ask for a self-attested copy. In the interest of full disclosure, we provided a notarized copy this time when we applied for the fourth member of the family though it clearly states self-attested copy, as we had to get a different doc notarized in any case.

If nothing else is needing notarizing, then the ask is clearly for a self-attested copy only as far as copy of passport is concerned.
