Old renunciation application

Hi,

Back in January, I was in the process of applying for renunciation and then OCI. I filled application on indian gov website which I can still access. It reads application has been submitted. I had filled all application details on VFS website. I just had to submit application package via fedex. Unfortunately due to medical reasons, we were just too preoccupied to mail that out. I have ARN and passport number and email. When I try to resend email confirmation letter, it says application has been canceled or not scheduled. I had already paid application fee and everything. And I actually do have application confirmation letter from january. should I just go ahead and send my application in or re-do the whole thing or just re-do VFS part of application? Thank you!

I believe your time limit may have expired. I think the wait time is 60 days(window of opportunity) after which you have to start afresh. You may want to call the VFS number(available on the Consulate's website) if you want to speak to a rep. They will charge you for the call(not including any hold times), but they should be able to bring up your record and guide you accordingly. For a different reason when I had to call the reps, I spoke to a reasonable young man who was able to move my application along, so it may not harm going that route.

I called VFS. First 5 minutes are free which they provide every 7 days. After first five minutes, they charge $2.48 per minute. Anyways, I was able to ask my questions within first five minutes. They said I have to fill the whole application again. After I am done with that or before that, I can apply for refund request via their website. It can be found by clicking contact us link down on their main page. He also said that processing times are still high for OCI if anyone wants to know.
