  • New OCI Minor Application Mistake

I didn’t notarize the main gov application registration form, since it was not mentioned in the checklist. I also forgot to add my newborn baby’s thumb impression in this document . Will my application packet be returned because of this mistake?

Did you upload your child's thumb impression in the digital signature section of the OCI government website? Your physical application should have the thumb impression/signature, matching the online upload. This is what they will verify and it likely that they will ask you for a revised document again. I don't think notary matters as much, but the thumb impression is important, since it is actually captured on the OCI card.

Yes. I did upload baby’s thumb impression on the OCI gov website and that got printed beneath the photo in the form printed out.

Do you know if I can send them a revised document, without them returning my application?

VFS is not that great in terms of handling such revisions. You have to wait for them to reach out and ask for additional details as needed.

But, fingers crossed, hope your application sneaks through with no issues.

Just got an update. Does this mean my application is ok, after the initial screening?

            new status received:
Your Application has been ‘Processed’ at the VFS India Consular application Centre and currently is ‘In-Transit‘ to the Embassy of India/Consulate General of India for decision making.
