Hi,
If I want to renew my passport as an NRI, I can apply for renewal in the foreign country I am in. But they will do Indian address police verification even though I don't live in India. I don't have an Indian residence and don't have relatives who will help me with police verification. So my only option is go back to India on vacation, buy or rent a house and answer the police myself.
1) But is it allowed to renew the passport in India even if you are an NRI?
2) Can I put my US address while renewing it from India? Will Indian Passport Seva Kendra accept foreign address proof?
