Renunciation NY taking a long time

Our documents (renunciation without passport) were sent to consulate on 8/30/21 and status says "Surrender certificate is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate" on passport seva website. We did the same renunciation with lost passport for my father on July of this year and it only took about 4 days for consulate to approve. its been 40 days for us and not yet approved. Anyone else stuck at NY consulate?

Also VFS told us we can contact pramit, and we received a response basically saying to wait, I told them its over the waiting time but no response came after that.
