I am hoping you will be able to help me with my below queries.

I am in the process of applying for British Citizenship but at the same time I am in the process of getting transferred to India from London with in the same company for a new job. Below are my questions

·After taking the Oath in UK and collecting my certificate can I fly to India on India passport?
·After getting my British passport in India from British high commission can I directly apply for OCI or I need to apply first for employment visa as I will be working there. Unless it is allowed to work while your OCI application is in process?

2. You need to get the British passport from local passport passport office in the UK, as answer to question #1 is No.

And is it ok to work while your OCI is in process as I will only have an X visa on the passport with my application in process with OCI?

You can't work with X visa.

But can you work otherwise since you OCI application is in process?
And does one really needs to inform OCI about work status as it is not been asked any where during the process of application.

Also I have seen people travel to India on Indian passport after taking the Oath for British citizen ship but they had to pay a fine of 10,000 rupees? Is this correct?

Once you are no longer Indian citizen, you can no longer travel on Indian passport. People do all sorts of things, but that does not mean it is legal.



You can't work while OCI is process.

Just one last question so that you understand my situation.

I will be India already from next month as Indian citizen working but in December I will fly back into UK to take Oath and collect my citizenship certificate and then I was planning to apply for OCI in India. Do you think under such circumstance I may be allowed to work while my OCI is in process?
