  • Oci physical and uploaded photo needs to be same

In my application, the passport photo on the government website and the physical copies I sent are different. I was asked by VFS to upload new photos within 20 days. Few questions:
    1. Once I upload a new photo on the government website, do I have to download all 3 pages of the government application, notarize it and re-upload it? Or is it enough if I only upload the first page since that is the only one with the photograph?
    2. There is an online page where I can upload my documents. Is that sufficient or do I need to mail physical copies as well?

    a) No need to notarize the govt application. Where did you see that it needs to be notarized. The only instruction from VFS is:
OCI Application Form. Please fill the form correctly and ensure it is duly signed
    b) Looks like they are asking you to upload only the Photo so that it matches the one you sent. I think that is all you need to do. Do exactly what they asked you to do - anything more or less can only create more confusion. (So, don't upload the application etc).

    c) Just upload the photos and email them to VFS as well. If they need anything else they will ask or tell you to send them.

      a. For minor OCI, notarization is needed - https://www.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/...inor-final.pdf
OCI Application Form: . In case of Minor any one parent may sign the form and notarize it before submission
      b. I got this incomplete message in my email. They do specify reprinting the existing government application, but I don't know if I am supposed to sign and upload the last page again or just the first page since that's the only one with the photo.

PHYSICAL AND UPLOADED PHOTO NEEDS TO BE SAME. AND UPLOAD ON GOV’T WEBSITE, REPRINT EXISTING FORM AND
      c. Ya, I plan to upload the photo and pay for them to print it as well. Do they ask for additional documents if they are missing?

You didn't mention it was for a minor in your first post. That incomplete message is not very helpful - Best to talk to them about it before you do anything.

I have applied and got OCI for my minor children and never uploaded the notarized application back to Govt website. What you need to do is get a digital copy of the physical photo (make sure the photo is within the correct pixel and kb size). Upload the digital photo, print the application, attach the physical photo with a paper clip, get the form notarized and mail it to VFS.

There is pretty conflicting information about OCI digital photos. MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) and VFS has different and some times conflicting specs.
I would recommend the specs from MHA.
OCI Digital Images Upload: Applicant's image and Applicant's signature image (Max size 200kb).
(Page 6 on this link: https://www.mha.gov.in/PDF_Other/2OC...e_15112019.pdf)
            • The height and width of the Applicant Photo must be equal.
            • The minimum dimensions are 200 pixels (width) x 200 pixels (height).
            • The maximum dimensions are 1500 pixels (width) x 1500 pixels (height).
            • The height and width of the Signature Photo must have aspect ratio 1:3
            • The minimum dimensions are 200 pixels (width) x 67 pixels (height).
            • The maximum dimensions are 1500 pixels (width) x 500 pixels (height).
Also I got my printed and digital photos for OCI with onlinepassportphoto dot com. Check their OCI page for lot of details.

Our minor application was rejected for below:

Photograph : • Must be 2x2 in plain white background. Please take new photo, upload on the gov’t website, reprint existing form and send the form along with new physical via courier.

Do we need to notarize the reprinted application? What did you do at the end?

There is no mention of notarization of reprinted application anywhere in general.
