  • Does anyone know how to update marriage-based OCI with new passport details?

I have been trying to use the OCI Miscellaneous Services web portal to update my OCI with new passport details after I got a new passport issued after turning 50. The problem is that it only lets me upload my passport copy, and not the other supporting materials. Eventually I get an automated message that says my application was rejected because I didn't upload everything. The last time I got a slightly different message that says "to apply again selecting spouse eligibility yes and spouse declaration form also to be uploaded". The problem seems to be that they expect me to check a check box somewhere that says my OCI is based on marriage. But there is no such check box anywhere that I can find. Has anyone successfully done this and know what the trick is?

    Thanks,
    Steve

On the uploads page, there is a drop-down. You use different drop down values for different things. Passport copy is one. Photo is another. Most importantly, the Relationship Certificate is which you would choose to upload an "Apostilled Marriage Certificate" according to the instructions.
Once you apply and get Part A and Part B confirmed, you go to the Upload Documents section. Be sure to click the drop down on that upload page and picking each option. A description of what document may be uploaded under that drop down category is listed there.
