Hi,
I was able to comple Part A & B requirements for OCI registration (in liew of valid PIO) and was given a file reference num USAS******** (12 digit). As per the suggested steps, I went to VFS to pay for the required fees and prepare to send the documents via mail. But, the VFS site keeps complaining that USAS******** is not valid OCI Govt Reference Number. There is customer support to clarify if it's bug on their web application or I don't have a valid number, which I doubt because that number is printed on the generated application form.
I live in California and the application is with San Francisco Consolute. I am stumped right now and need guidance on resolving the Govt Reference Number issue on VFS site. or should I restart the applicaton process on https://ociservices.gov.in/ ?
