On your "PIO Card Vs OCI Card", document describing differences amongst the two cards, a very last item, "New foreign passport", says, " need to apply for new OCI card and visa.
On the official website of Consulate General of India, NY, it says as follows:
When travelling to India, please carry our OCI card, your US passport with the 'U' (lifelong) visa sticker and your valid American passport (if they are different or the former has expired, then both passports are to be carried).
