What is causing Delay in Houston

Finally, I got my entry-visa approval notification email from Travisa this morning. Here is my complete timeline:

11/04/2010 9:17am CST India visa application completed online
11/05/2010 1:02pm CST India visa application arrived in the mail at Travisa Outsoucing
11/12/2010 12:11pm CST Application assigned for processing
11/12/2010 12:42pm CST Passport and supporting documents received by Travisa Outsourcing, payment processed
11/12/2010 2:20pm CST Documents prepared to go to Consulate
11/15/2010 8:49am CST Documents dispatched from Travisa Outsourcing to Consulate
11/15/2010 9:43am CST Documents received by Consulate
12/14/2010 8:42am CST Outsourcing office has verified the visa is processed correctly. Ready for pickup between 4:30pm and 6:00pm. If mail back, waiting for FedEx pick up and is likely to be mailed out tomorrow.

Glad to know that you got it. For people who submitted the applications for Surrender and Entry Visa - it takes 30 to 35 days from the time Indian consulate receives the document (do not take into consideration of your depatch date or Travisa initial processing time)

Entry Visa

I dont understand why they are taking so long...this is so wrong. Looking at others timeline..i have an extra line saying 'pending approval from govt of India' me n my husband r US citizens and have applied for entry visa for my son...
Any idea when i can expect my visa if my timeline is:

PIO card processing time

Folks

Can someone comment on the recent processing time for PIO card at Houston Consulate?
I applied by mail on 30 Nov 2010 for my US born 7 week old daughter. Yet to get the PIO card.

hi all, when I call the #s provided for INdian consulate in Houston, it is just a busy signal, never rings or anything. Does this happen for everyone else???

do you know why the "Pending Approval" status message shows up? I am a US citizen so are both my parents and I'm applying for tourist visa, that's why I'm wondering, some friends told me "Pending Approval" on my app means it's been flagged.

My husband is from India and when he got his passport renewed he had to go through Houston it was awful I would sit on the phone for hours with them But at least it rang, this was a few years ago that's why I'm wondering why I just get a busy signal now cus I remember at least it used to ring back then
