New OCI is not being processed at Indan Consulate in USA ?

on Friday, I used MIA OCI web site to register (part A) and was able to do so, I did receive registration numbers from OCI admin by email i keyed in on form. I have been preparing to send my passport for cancellation as well as application for OCI. Today when I did go to Indian Consulate web site, it says "because of some web site problem they are not accepting new OCI application till further notice".

Just wondering, since I had register myself for OCI before this problem related notice popped up. Should I still be Ok to send my OCI application along with my passport due for cancellation.

Anybody has similar situation. Please share your experiences.
