I just found out there is a virtual interview for OCI via Spouse of Foreign Origin process. Does anyone know if the husband/wife have to be physically in the same location for that? I read from posts here that each spouse is questioned separately so they can see if the questions are answered the same by both people. So I wasn't sure if those are separate calls or if the other person is just asked to leave the room, but need to be physically in the same location.
We're having a hell of a time getting OCI for my Indian father because he doesn't have satisfactory "Indian Origin" documentation for the normal Adult application. He had to leave India due to his visa so he's in the US and she's in India (she has her OCI) and was able to get their marriage certificate apostilled there (which was the reason for the latest of many OCI rejections) and mail it to the US, so we could apply from here. Unfortunately, I already paid for the application and was gathering up everything to mail when I saw the part about the interview so I'm hoping she doesn't need to fly to the US just for the virtual interview otherwise we might have to just start over and apply from India when he goes back. Or I suppose, he could submit the application and go to India once his passport is returned to him so that they're together when it comes time for the interview. We're several rejections in and out thousands of dollars at this point in application fees (not to mention visa run flights). This process is certainly not for the faint of heart, but unfortunately my father's over 70 and losing hope he'll be able to stay in India long-term.
Thanks in advance for any context anyone can provide!
