I have a valid passport expiring in 2031 but it had minor typographical error so applied again to have that fixed. Now I got a police verification request. This is becoming an issue because I have lived in USA for years and don't really know my neighbors at the old rented out home. No one wants to give their ID photocopy. I think indian police has sent back a response of failure to verify. Do you think the consulate can still issue or how should I contact them? They have not replied to the several emails I have sent them.
