Issue with OCI process for 23yr old with last passort issued at 16

The process for Miscellaneous OCI services is routing my current 23 yr old son through the re-issue process instead of just needing to upload photo and new passport details. Last new passport he got was when he was 16. Is there any possibility of calling someone to be able to fix? I followed all of the instructions to the letter but seems like their web site is simply looking at my son't current age and ignoring the Govt. of India instructions. What are my options?

I have seen a couple posts like your's. Unfortunately, that is a bug in the system. I would just wait it out till he is 26 and gets a new passport. Till then, if you have to travel, use an eVisa as a back up with carrying both passports and the OCI card.

Just have the OCI re-issued. Since it is issued after your kid turned 20, no need for re-issue till he turns 50.
