Hi,
My newborn's OCI application is in process (more than 3 weeks since submitted to VFS). We need to travel to India in next 2-3 weeks. Based on the current timeline it looks unlikely that we will receive the OCI card in time before our travel. options as below
a. Visa on arrival in india - This does not work as the stay will be more than 30 days
b. Apply e-Visa - This is valid for 60 days so can this be a viable option if OCI card is not received?
c. If OCI card is received here; we can send it via post to india but seems risk to send such important doc via post.
I have no experience on how OCI card is validated in immigration. If we receive the OCI card; does the physical card need to be presented mandatorily or a copy can suffice?
Greatly appreciate any guidance on above options or any other better way to handle this situation !!
