They do not issue a new OCI card if you renew when you are over 50?

I am over 50 and I renewed my OCI using the new process. I only received this email from [email protected] but did not received a new OCI card/passport. Is that the norm?

This refers to application bearing MHA file No. USASXXXXU22 for uploading of documents in connection with your OCI Card No. AXXXXX. Updated details including your new passport number XXXXXX have been taken on record.

Yes, if you updated online then you will only get that email confirmation.

If you want a new OCI card for any reason (change in appearance, address, marital status etc), then you will have to follow the oci re-issue process and pay the fees to get the OCI card re-issued with the updated details.

arkaa Thanks! None of these (change in appearance, address, marital status etc) applies to me. So I assume it is safe for me to travel to India with just this email approval?

You do need the old booklet. This email alone wont suffice. I am not even planning to carry this approval email when I fly. Only the new passport and the old OCI book.
