Hello
I had filed the petitions (i130 and i485) for my mother in March 2022 and recently received an Intial Request for Evidence regarding her birth certificate.
Since she was born in India in 1958, her birth certificate is considered unavailable. I had attached her school certificate as alternate evidence but not sure why USCIS is asking for proof of birth.
Although the letter does mention that if birth certificate is considered unavailable, then we don't need to do anything. But I am worried doing nothing may result in eventually denial.
Will really appreciate any suggestions on what should I do.
Thank you!
