  • Applying for E-Visa without surrender certificate

    Hi Everyone,

I was planning to travel to Bahrain and India on my Indian Passport however I received my british passport earlier than expected and was not able to surrender it before I departed for Bahrain. However, I do still need to urgently travel to India, I have read on some of the forums that I am able to apply for an e-visa even though I do not have the surrender certificate.

Has anyone here had any experience applying for an e-visa, successfully getting it and travelling to India without a surrrender certificate? If yes, I was unsure on some of the questions in the e-visa application below

    1) How did I acquire nationality - Do I mention by naturalisation or birth? If I select naturalisation, I guess I need to mention my previous nationality (India)

    2) I read on a forum https://www.immihelp.com/forum/india...ion-read-below here that if I have not yet renounced my indian passport and it is still valid I need to enter those passport details in any other valid passports/ travel documents section. The application also has a section for "Previous Visa / Current Visa" where it asks: "Have you ever visited India" and that i need to click NO if you previously held an indian passport

    3) Lastly there is also a section where it asks you to state the countries visited in the last 10 years? Do I only mention the countries travelled under the british passport (which is only bahrain) or do I enter all the countries visited with my indian passport (excluding india)

Any help here would be greatly appreciated 🙏.
