Hello shriram, When did you apply? Was it through mail or in person?

will only suggest to visit the consulate after 45 business/working days aftert your application reached. If you are lucky you may get the application on the same day on in next couple of days....

            PIO at washington DC

            Hi

Folks writing on the Forum are absolutely right - pio card at washington DC takes almost exactly 45 business days. I got my daughters on the 42nd day. We mailed in our application so I dont think that mailing delays the application processing

            Thanks

PIO card delay at Washington DC Embassy

I finally got mine on Dec 6, 2010 via UPS. It is acutually more than 45 working days.

Sent my Application on Sep 13
Received by Consulate on Sep 15
PIO got signed on Dec 3
              Delivered on Dec 6.

It is totally a pain if we plan based on the 45 days window. I was in the verge of travelling to DC and from Memphis that is quite a journey with the baby.

Why don't we have an Online Status checking for this? We boast of being a IT giant but these small things make the life, a lot better for many.

Best of Luck to those who are waiting for PIO.
