  • Oci photos

    Hi
Where can I get OCI pictures taken and also how do I resize the pictures? This whole process seems so complicated.

Also,do minors need to transfer oci to new passport

We took our own photos on our iPhone(s).

Kids below 20 do not need to get the OCI reissued but they do need to file the update with the new passport details on the Indian OCI site. Kids who get a new passport after turning 20 do need a single OCI re-Issuance. The rest of the times, its only passport and photo updates on the OCI site.

My father and mother old photos are blurry and these are on their passports. If I use any software like upscaling tool to fix them, are these acceptable then?

No. They need to be "recent" photos. Less than 6 months old.

while using oci miscellaneous services - updating passport for minor.
it says signature - but my kids are minors i took a thumb impression using inkpad on a white sheet and trying to scan the image as a jpeg.
are any of you facing issue with uploading the thumb print jpeg? i cannot upload it no matter what.
            how did you resolve it?

            Thanks

It can be tricky to get OCI photos done right. I actually used my iPhone to take the picture with a plain white background at home, and it worked fine. Just make sure the lighting is good and there are no shadows. After that, I used an online tool to resize the image to the required specs. It's a pretty easy process once you get the hang of it.
