OCI UK Passport Change

Hi, my daughter is 10 and we had to renew her British Passport. According to new rules, we don't have to get OCI re-issued, so I submitted the form online for details to be updated.

Does anyone know how long will it take for the details to be updated. And will you get some sort of confirmation that you need to carry along when you travel? Anyone faced similar, can you please let me know.

You should have received an acknowledgement that they received your online application to update passport details.

After the process it, you will get an email confirming the passport details are updated and taken on record.

You do not need the process to be completed before you travel. You can travel even if they have not confirmed the updates. I did not need to show any proof that the process was complete. I did have a print of that email but it was never needed. They did not ask for anything.

I simply gave them the OCI card and my latest passport an that was it.
