I am a US citizen and OCI card holder.
I am currently using a newer US passport that was different from the one that was used to apply for OCI. I did not realize I had to update the new passport details in my OCI as I have always carried my old expired passport that had the U-visa sticker. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my old US passport that has that sticker and my current passport number does not match the passport number mentioned in the OCI card. While I have submitted an online application to update my passport (just submitted yesterday) and I have an acknowledgement email that it is under process.
I am worried I will be denied boarding by the airlines because of this as check in agents don't always have the right info. I know from experience that Immigration authorities in India are never a problem as they never ask for the U-visa - just the OCI booklet.
Can someone provide some guidance on what I can do in this situation?
