Infant visa to india

Hi All,

I want to apply for PIO for my kid (5 m old), but i doubt i will receive PIO before i leave for india. so is it ok to take temporary visa to tour india for her, if, yes, how quickly i can get that?

apply tourist visa....
do not apply entry visa... as it requires govt of india approval and it takes long
