Passport Renewed SF Consulate - Normal Processing

Just wanted to share my experience because this forum was very helpful to me.

I had my Indian passport just renewed at the SF Consulate and here's my timeline:

May 5 2023 : Sent in all my paperwork to VFS via fedex
May 12 2023: Got an update that it's been sent to the embassy
After numerous emails and trying to know anything about my passport, I was so lost. No emails were responded for a month and a half
June 27 2023: Police verification for my Indian address even though I provided all the paperwork for my address here in the U.S.
June 29 2023: Police showed at my parents house in India and confirmed that I used to live there almost 2 decades ago
Radio silence then again for 3 weeks and then I was calling every number on the Indian consulate page but no luck with anything
July 13 2023: Email was sent to sign an affidavit that even after all these years I have been in the U.S. I still don't have any other country's citizenship except India
July 23 2023: Found on India Gov tracking that my passport is finally getting printed
July 24 2023: VFS sent an email that I will get it delivered the next day
July 25 2023: Got the old and new passport

A few important things:
added spouse's name on it
had passport expired which might have delayed the process

I am preparing for an Indian passport renewal application to be submitted to SF consulate. Did you have name change situation, if so did you have to provide Name Change affidavit along with supporting docs? Can I apply under Tatkal if I have change in name due to marriage?
