  • OCI application PART B - Declaration page notarized requirement

    Hello Friends,

I am applying first time for my son. The OCI checklist does not mention that we need to notarize the OCI application Part B - Declaration page. Is it changed now ?

Did you send without notarized ?

Can you please share your experience ?

    Thanks for your help.

First-time OCI applicants are exempt from notarization requirements. To prevent any potential delays or complications, you should have the Part B - Declaration page of the OCI application notarized.

I raised a query with the support and their response is that notarizing the form isn't necessary.

We understand that you have a query related to Part B.

Please be informed that, as per the document checklist, there is no need to notarize the document.

aparna3 - Thanks for sharing their response here. So did you only notarize the 'parental authorization form' then? Or were there other documents you notarized too?

I prepared three documents as part of my previous application:

          1. **Affidavit in Lieu of Originals**
          2. **Parent Indian Address Attestation:** This document includes a statement confirming my Indian address. It reads: "I, [Name], residing in the U.S. at [U.S. Address], confirm my Indian address is [Indian Address]. Please consider this notarized document as verification of my Indian address if proof is not provided."
          3. **Parental Authorization for Minors**
