OCI status was there before - now not yet Acknowledged

Hi,
I sent my OCI app to Wash DC on 12/7/10. Tracking on the OCI site, I saw that it was acknowledged in 12/15/10, and photo scanned on 12/21/10.

Now on the OCI status site, I see "Application with this number not yet Acknowledged". Any ideas?

Do you get an acknowledgement email once the application is acknowledged or do we have to check the OCI status ourselves?

No, you have to check the status online. Best to wait for at least a week before checking.

I have a similar situation as dec_user. I submmitted my application on 9/30/10 and it was acknowledged and photo scanned, etc (unfortunately i dont have the dates). it was not received in NY.... then I check it yesterday and the website states "application not acknowledged yet". I checked with passport number entry and it shows the application is acknowledged 11/16/10.... i tried calling NY consulate office but ofcourse no one picks up the phone there. Any one has a similar situation??? i am hoping that the website is corrected to show the application acknowledged and the photo scanned... soon.

I have same situation.

I recieved an email on December 2nd from GC-NY. The email stats "We acknowledge receipt of your OCI application(s)." They also suggest that they should not be contacted untill 2 months passes.

I checked the status online today(12/29) and it says "the application has not been acknowledged by the mission".

So, it looks like the email I recieved was just for the 'receipt' of our OCI application by mission. The Acknowledgement of the application by GC-NY could be a whole different thing.
